Intern: Marketing Finance and Operations (Summer 2026)

What you will do

As a marketing finance and operations intern, you'll play a crucial role in supporting the marketing team's day-to-day operations, analyzing data, managing invoices and budgets, and contributing to the overall efficiency and effectiveness of marketing initiatives. 

Responsibilities Include: 
•    Purchase Order (PO) and invoice management: Assist with the creation of purchase orders, tracking their status, and ensuring timely processing of invoices. This involves regular coordination with team members and vendors and using an accounts payable management system to manage vendor invoices, verify accuracy, and reconcile discrepancies. 

•    Budget planning and management: Support the development, tracking, and management of marketing budgets. This may involve creating budget templates, inputting data, and monitoring expenditures to ensure they align with the allocated budget.

•    Marketing analysis: Conduct analysis and provide insights on marketing spend, return on investment (ROI), and campaign effectiveness. This involves developing measurement plans, generating reports, interpreting and visualizing data, and evaluating the financial impact of marketing initiatives.

•    Lead scoring and tracking: Score leads using existing criteria. Determine quality of leads generated by marketing initiatives and adjust the process to changing marketing technologies and scoring maturity. 

•    Process improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline marketing operations and improve efficiency. This could involve evaluating existing processes, suggesting improvements, and implementing changes to optimize workflows, such as automating repetitive tasks or improving project management.

•    Collaboration and coordination: Work closely with marketing and finance teams and vendors to achieve role objectives. Involves confidence to question information provided by others and go back to the source to clarify. It also involves taking a proactive approach to bring recommendations or ideas for solutions.

Educational Requirements:

  • Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a degree at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies prior to the start of the internship
  • The ideal candidate will be pursuing a degree in finance or data science with an interest in marketing OR be pursuing a degree in marketing with substantial finance coursework.
  • Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.
  • Summer interns may work up to 40 hours per week.

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $17.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
