Intern: Mechanical Engineering (Spring 2026)

What you will do
At VCE you will contribute to the transformation of our company as we industrialize new products within our facility. You will work as part of our Production team to help drive continuous improvement in our assembly operations.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Interfacing with industrial workers to identify and implement continuous improvement ideas
- Conduct time studies in assembly stations
- Utilize CAD software to design components needed in the assembly process
- Assist with work place organization (WPO) related projects (i.e. rebalancing stations, rearranging work content, etc.)
- Document design processes
- Develop and update work instructions and standard operating procedures
- Participate in team meetings
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Maintenance, Production, and other groups
Who are you?
Qualifications

Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies prior to the start of the internship.
- The ideal candidate would have interest and availability to begin mid-November and continue through May 2026

Basic understanding of mechanical design principles

Experience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, Inventor, Fusion 360)

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Excellent communication and teamwork abilities

Enthusiasm to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment
- Spring interns may work up to 30 hours per week
- Applicants must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.75

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $17.00 - $46.00. The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
