About the Role
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated Social Media Marketing Intern to join our team. The successful candidate will work closely with our Content Marketing Manager to help create, design, and write content for Volvo CE North America social media channels, and other various marketing materials. This internship will provide valuable hands-on experience in content creation, social community management, and social media reporting.
Responsibilities & Main Tasks:
This portion of the internship will play a key role in supporting the content and channel development of our social media marketing efforts. You will be responsible for creating engaging content, managing our social community, and contributing to overall social media strategy.
Support the content and channel development of social media marketing.
- Content Creation: Develop creative and compelling social media posts and captions that align with our brand voice and objectives. Create approximately 50% of monthly social media content for Volvo CE North America, ensuring high-quality visuals and copy.
- Community Management: Engage with our social media community by reposting, commenting, and liking user-generated content to foster a sense of community and brand loyalty.
- Social Process Management: Update and maintain our social media management tools, such as monday.com and Sprout Social, to ensure efficient workflow and scheduling.
- Evergreen Content Strategy: Actively suggest evergreen content ideas, such as giveaways, contests, and stories, to maintain audience engagement and drive traffic.
- Multi-Platform Posting: Manage and schedule posts on Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter), LinkedIn, and YouTube to reach our target audience across various channels.
- Videography and Photography: Take compelling photos and videos. Edit social media videos using Canva, Adobe Premiere, or other applications. Assist in video and photoshoots for Public Relations team.
- Agency Relations: Attend meetings with marketing agency partners. On occasion, work with agency to complete tasks related to social media.
Additional Responsibilities (as needed):
- Trend Reporting: Monitor social media trends and provide insights to inform content strategy and identify opportunities for growth.
- Support dealer marketing team with content creation for Volvo CE dealer marketers as needed
- Support Public Relations and Events team with content creation and graphic design
- Take on Marketing Team activities and support the team as needed with various tasks.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Educational / Knowledge Requirements
- Applicants must be currently enrolled and pursuing a Business degree in Marketing or other relevant topic at an accredited school and have completed 30 semester hours prior to the start of the internship.
- Applicants must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to analyze complex data and draw insights.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present data and insights clearly and effectively.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint are needed.
- Fall interns can work up to 30 hours a week.

For all intern and co-op positions, the hourly range is set at $16.00 - $46.00.The hourly rate for these roles is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, academic classification, and degree seeking area of study.
