SGC Hydraulic Controls Senior Commodity Buyer:

Serve as a member of sub-commodity team(s), Global or Regional, defining the sourcing strategy for the given sub-commodity; Drive QSCCF (Quality, Sustainability, Capacity, Cost, and Features) targets at the sub-commodity level with its supplier base; Support optimum Early Supplier Involvement to deliver optimum common global technical solutions, along with product and projects expectations; Supplier Host; Commercially responsible within OTD and within PPD; Define the sourcing strategy together with the commodity team (for given subcommodities) and all necessary stakeholders; Anchor the sourcing strategy for its sub-commodities; Support implementation of the sourcing strategy in the product and regions; Manage the supply base (identification, evaluation, approval, and development of strategic suppliers); Responsible for supplier management strategies and tactics; Drive QSCC targets at the subcommodity level and track implementation (TCO, Quality, and Timing) with support from other Purchasing teams; Negotiate Long Term Agreements (LTA), containing Frame Work Agreements (FWA) based on our Volvo General Purchasing Conditions (VGPC), Warranty-, QDC-, Development agreement; Support Project leaders in reaching project targets with its supplier base (Planning, target cost, technical proposals); Responsible for Split Agreements (VA, Value Analysis, outcome); Conduct Business Reviews (meetings to review the overall supplier performance); Support sites according to escalation processes; Validate sourcing proposals made by project teams at gate review (compliance with commodity sourcing strategy); Responsible for Agreement registration in PAM system (Purchasing Agreement Management); Support in activities to recover warranty costs from suppliers; Work in accordance with the Volvo CE processes and Volvo’s core values and behaviors.

Requirements – Bachelor’s or foreign equivalent degree in Industrial Engineering, Production Engineering or a related field and 5 years of experience in the job offered or in purchasing. 
Special skills – Experience in commodity/segment, managing projects, and global supplier base.

Hybrid role-telecommuting permitted up to 3 days/week. 
Domestic travel once per month; international travel twice a year.

For this position, the base salary range is set at $96,000 - $118,500, and where applicable, bonus eligible.  The range for this role, as well as final salary offered,  is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, geographic location, work-related knowledge, certifications, skills, education, and experience. In addition to these factors, we believe in the importance of pay equity and consider internal equity of our current team members as part of any final offer.
