About the Program
The Vocational Trainee role provides students with the opportunity to apply academic knowledge and skills in a professional environment, and to support/promote the student's career goals through contact with professionals in their field of study. The internship experience enables students to participate in professional activities for Volvo Group by working on important and innovative projects. Vocational Trainee positions are structured learning experiences where students and our full time professionals work together on projects within their selected organization. This allows students to integrate knowledge and skills in a manner that is mutually beneficial to the student and Volvo (BA/BU).
Main Tasks / Duties / Authorities:
- Complete machine PMs on time.
- Work directly with production in order to diagnose machine ailments.
- Drive special projects related to maintenance (major repairs, uptime improvements, efficiency improvements, etc.).
- Complete various inspections to ensure we are conforming to standards.
- Work actively support our maintenance group on continuous improvements tasks.
- Work with the maintenance team to create a more accurate inventory, reduce obsolete inventory, increase critical spares.
- Continuously learn machines, develop your skillset, and continue to apply your new skills as you work.
Requirements
Qualifications/Minimum Requirements:
- Student must be currently enrolled in school and have interest in the maintenance environment.
- Student must have a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5.
- Student must be at least 17 years of age.
