We are looking for a Chief Accountant who will be responsible for full spectrum of accounting operations i.e., financial accounting. Financial Reporting, Tax & statutory compliances including Audits, projects etc. This position will be based at Singapore and will report to the Director-FCA Business Ops, Group & APAC.

Key Deliverables

1. Chief accountant responsible full spectrum of accounting operations - AP, AR, FA, GL and statutory/management reporting for 2 legal entities Volvo Group Singapore & Volvo Treasury Asia Ltd.

2. Responsible for monthly/quarterly/annual book closing & reporting process and consolidation of books of accounts in accordance with SFRS and IFRS Reporting requirements.

3. Responsible for analysis of financial reports including P&L, B/S analysis, presenting financial data to senior management and explaining trends, variances, and areas for improvement and presenting to Management.

4. Budget and forecast preparation for own department. Actual spending fluctuation analysis.

5. Single point of contact for statutory audit - timeline planning, interim/final audit fieldworks, addressing audit queries up to FS signing off and XBRL filing.

6. Ensure compliance to applicable Singapore Financial Reporting Standard (SFRS), Volvo Group Policy and Internal Control Guidelines. Familiar with FRS 116 (Lease Accounting).

7. Identify continuous improvement/optimization plans to streamline accounting processes and enhance efficiency.

8. Liaise with various stakeholders ie. Group Accounting team, tax specialist, IC team and group function leaders. Always initiate discussion to achieve best practice in the region.

9. Cash flow management - review of weekly buy/sell transactions and accounting forecast within Volvo Treasury group.

10. Ensure tax compliances in coordination with Tax Team.

11. Driving, Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy

12. Ensuring reports adherence to regulatory requirements and collaborating with the legal team to ensure compliance

13. Responsible for internal reporting in line with coordination with various functions in a matrix Organization.

Mindset and Competence

 

• You are an ACCA/ equivalent qualification with at least 12-15 years of work experience in finance and accounts function preferably in a multinational organization.

• You have hands-on experience in End-to-end finance scope i.e. financial accounting, financial reporting, independent handling of Statutory Audit.

• You have demonstrated digitalization, automation, standardization in the End-to-end finance scope.

• You have been managing a team of 5 or more and analysts who assist in the financial reporting process

• You have Hands-on experience in leading above-mentioned processes in finance, planning and accounting function with in-depth knowledge of all areas of finance including accounting, tax, compliance, audit.

• You have good understanding of business operations preferably from related industry/ manufacturing industry.

• You can attract, develop, and support talents.

• You have demonstrated cross functional teamwork and collaboration approach.
