What you will do

Volvo Buses APAC Central is part of Volvo Buses Asia Pacific, one of the leading clusters within Volvo Bus Corporation with a proud history of profitability and growth. It is responsible for Vehicle and Aftersales business, partnership with Volvo’s own and private importers, key customers and body build partners, and progress of the Volvo Buses total business within the region.

 

Regional Business Control Manager, Volvo Buses APAC Central

Based in Singapore and reporting to the Director, Volvo Buses APAC Central, the Business Control Manager is responsible for financial control, forecast & budgeting, financial reporting and financial compliance in Volvo Buses APAC Central.

 

Financial compliance is defined as meeting all statutory requirements and internal Volvo Group requirements as described in policies, directives and in Financial Policies and Procedures (FPP).

Main Activities and Responsibilities

  • Serve as a pro-active financial business partner to relevant stakeholders to drive and execute the APAC Central strategy, providing business and financial advisory to support key financial decisions.
  • Active member in APAC Central Management Meeting and Business Management Review.
  • Support the Director, Volvo Buses APAC Central with designing new business models and exploring new revenue streams.
  • Responsible for the APAC Central controlling, accounting, financial planning and analyses, Annual Business Plan and financial forecasting, group reporting, internal controls, compliance, audit and tax activities, transfer pricing for APAC markets and working with market business controllers for the same.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly management reports including Balance sheet (BS), Income statement (IS) and Cash flow (CF). Provide analysis for financial results and comments to management.

Main Activities and Responsibilities (Cont)

  • Responsible for credit management, banking facilities, treasury and risk management.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data, company expenditure, cash flow, credit review and application, overdue listing and banking facilities.
  • Provide Financial and advisory support during the tender process and submission and any other quotations.
  • Provide directions, coaching, guidance and develop the competence of market business controllers in APAC Central markets.
  • Interact with management and colleagues in Volvo Group as well as external customers, distributors and banks.
  • Support operations and give guidance to the business.
  • Other adhoc task and work as assigned by the manager.

Critical Competencies And Experience For The Position

  • Qualified Accountant with demonstrated financial and accounting control experience with global multinational companies preferably in the automotive industry.
  • 8 to 10 years’ relevant working experience.
  • Structured and driven personality with high integrity, strong perseverance and desire to always improve.
  • Highly analytical, proactive, forward-thinking and solution-focused.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to influence, build strong work relationships with non-finance colleagues and collaborate cross-functionally.
  • Ability to work independently in a flexible, dynamic and multi-cultural environment and to meet deadlines.

Qualification

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance / Accounting.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint.
  • Good knowledge of financial/accounting system and software, i.e. SAP.  Power BI & Macro is a merit.
