Thesis: Energy Optimization Strategies for Assembly Lines and Robot Cells
Skövde, SE, 541 87
Transport is at the core of modern society. Imagine using your expertise to shape sustainable transport and infrastructure solutions for the future. If you seek to make a difference on a global scale, working with next-gen technologies and the sharpest collaborative teams, then we could be a perfect match.
We are seeking motivated Master’s or Bachelor’s students in Automation or Energy Engineering for a theoretical thesis project focused on reducing energy consumption in manufacturing assembly lines.
This research will analyze available market technologies, operating philosophies, and develop a strategic roadmap for implementing future solutions.
The primary emphasis is on practical energy optimization within assembly lines and robot cells, moving beyond traditional focus areas such as foundries to explore energy-saving opportunities across the entire production process.
The project aims to:
• Develop a comprehensive operating philosophy encompassing modes such as idle, half-speed, and full-speed operation.
• Create a detailed roadmap outlining technical solutions and actionable steps, along with measurable guidelines to support both daily operations and long-term investment planning.
• Deliver a concrete methodology and plan to reduce energy consumption per unit produced, ensuring no loss of capacity or productivity.
This thesis offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to sustainable manufacturing practices by identifying innovative, market-ready solutions for energy efficiency.
We Offer:
• An engaging research environment with experienced supervisors
• Opportunities to develop your technical and analytical skills
• A platform to contribute to industry-relevant research
Application:
If you are interested in advancing energy-saving strategies in industrial automation, we encourage you to apply!
