Business Controller to Volvo Trucks Denmark

Then you might be our new Business Controller.

As a Business Controller at Volvo Trucks Denmark, you are a strong business partner for the Vehicle Sales Function, which includes our colleagues in the two main business areas: Retail (Truck Centers) and Wholesale. You will support them with the right insights and analysis, follow up on the business performance in the closing and budgeting process, participate in target setting and various projects to drive performance improvements.

To improve efficiency of business control activity and bring the performance to the next level, you will challenge the way of working and use the newest technology (Power BI, Qlik view, power pivot, robots, new systems etc.) to improve reporting and forecasting process, to make it more efficient and business driven.

The position is part of the Business Control and IT department which consists of 7 colleagues reporting to the CFO. The position is located at the Volvo Denmark Headquarters in Taastrup.

Your main tasks will be

  • Perform month end closing activities in your area of responsibility.
  • Follow-up on profitability in Vehicle Sales Function at closing, forecast and budget, for both financial and non-financial KPIs.
  • Coordination and submission of Quarterly forecast for Vehicle Sales.
  • Participate in target settings and perform quarterly/yearly bonus calculation for supported business areas.
  • Prepare and present the Monthly Management report to Vehicle Sales stakeholders, explaining the actual performance compared with previous periods and estimates, highlighting main areas where actions are needed and making recommendations for corrective actions.
  • Drive systems and solution development at the Wholesale and Trucks Centers level.
  • Ad hoc (reporting, project involvement, questions linked to the above areas of responsibility, etc.)

To be successful in this job it requires that you:

  • Have a Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field, but a Master’s degree or CPA certification is preferred.
  • Have, preferably, min 5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Have proven experience as a Business Controller or similar role.
  • Experience within the automotive industry is a plus, but not a requirement

Technical skills:

    • You have financial and analytical skills, with a data driven approach.
    • Have the ability to simplify and interpret complex financial data.
    • Have proficiency in financial software and advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel (As example Power query, Power pivots, VBA), PowerPoint.
    • Experience working with / developing Power BI reports is considered a plus.
    • Knowledge of and experience in working with financial reporting systems such as Hyperion, SAP4/Hana is a plus.
