What you will do

The main purpose of the role is to assemble heavy duty Trucks in line with the Volvo Production System Standards. 

 

Reporting: This role reports to  Production Team Leader.


Job Objectives:

 

  • Assemble vehicles and vehicle sub-components in line with plant SQCDP (Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, People) Targets and according to sprint instructions.
  • Perform other related responsibilities and carry out  5s (Sort, Set, Shine, Standardize, Sustain) and housekeeping responsibilities.
  • To ensure that all the tooling and equipment is well maintained.
  • Ensure that all SOPs (standard operating procedures) and Safety regulations are well adhered to and immediately report deviations to superior.
  • Participate and contribute to all other Production related activities i.e. Kaizen and Gemba events.

Qualification & Job Experience:

 

  • Grade 12 with Passes in Mathematics and Science.
  • A minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience from a similar work environment.

  • Ability to read and follow assembly instructions.
  • Should be technically minded and practical.
  • Computer skills (Basic).
