What you will do
The main purpose of the job is to oversee and coordinate all logistics activities within the assembly plant to ensure the efficient, timely, and accurate flow of materials, components, and finished goods. This role ensures production continuity, optimises warehouse processes, and leads a team of logistics operators to maintain high standards of safety, quality, and operational performance.
Job Objectives:
Material Flow & Production Support
- Ensure timely delivery of components to assembly lines according to production schedules.
- Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with planning to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Oversee receiving, storage, picking, and line-feeding activities.
- Ensure correct FIFO/FEFO practices are applied at all times.
Warehouse & Yard Management
- Oversee inbound and outbound logistics operations.
- Ensure accurate stock control through cycle counts and reconciliation.
- Maintain orderly warehouse layout, ensuring optimal space utilization.
- Manage loading/unloading activities and ensure compliance with documentation requirements.
Team Leadership
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of logistics operators, drivers, and forklift operators.
- Plan daily labour allocation according to operational needs.
- Conduct performance reviews, skills assessments, and disciplinary processes were required.
- Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Managing attendance.
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to plant safety standards and legal regulations.
- Conduct toolbox talks, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
- Ensure material handling equipment is operated safely and maintained correctly.
- Uphold quality standards for component handling, packaging, and delivery.
Systems & Reporting
- Use SAP/TM1 systems for stock movements, material requests, and reporting.
- Generate daily/weekly logistics KPIs (on-time delivery, inventory accuracy, picking accuracy, etc.)
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements to processes and workflows.

Qualification & Job Experience:
- Diploma in Industrial Engineering/Logistics Management/Supply Chain Management or equivalent experience.
- 2–3 years of experience in logistics or material handling within an assembly environment.
- Knowledge of Lean, inventory control, and SAP systems.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
