Purpose of the Role


To carry out Product Audit activities in accordance with Product Audit Manual (PAM) and to ensure effective communication on Product Quality.

 

Reporting: This position reports to Manager Quality & VPS

 

Job Objectives:

 

Product Audit

 

  • Perform the activities outlined in the role purpose and record all findings in the relevant global systems.
  • Maintain up-to-date product knowledge by following Global Audit Team routines, participating in self-assessments and consensus sessions, and learning from the team’s global auditors.
  • Train the assembly workforce on product knowledge and explain the consequences of non-compliance with quality routines and standards.
  • Support Fitment Centre activities by conducting random checks and providing input to ensure that late customer changes do not compromise truck quality standards.
  • Participate in and contribute to problem-solving processes, supporting corrective and preventive actions to stabilise and improve the quality of products delivered from the plant to customers.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support applicable VPS activities across the plant. This includes raising Safety and Action Cards, reporting safety concerns, and maintaining 5S standards in the workplace.
  • Manage product audit communication within the team and between the team, management, and other relevant stakeholders.

Qualification & Job Experience

 

  • Grade 12 and an NQF Level 6 qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Production Operations, or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 6–8 years’ experience in truck final assembly, a quality function, or a product-related environment.
  • Valid Code 14 driver’s licence.
