What you will do
Purpose of the Role:
To carry out and coordinate daily production activities on the assembly line in a safe, disciplined and cost-effective manner, aligned with plant performance expectations for Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Environment and People (SQCDEP). The Team Leader supports the Production Lead by collaborating with assemblers, reinforcing Volvo practices on the Gemba and maintaining a stable, standardised production environment that meets Volvo’s requirements for operational excellence.
Job Objectives:
- Cascade and execute business KPIs across Safety, Quality, Cost, Delivery, Environment and People (SQDCEP).
- Reinforce VPS principles and sustain a disciplined, visual and structured Gemba environment.
- Coordinate and control production inputs including materials, tooling, torque equipment and operator readiness for each shift.
- Lead daily start-up meetings to ensure clarity of goals, daily targets and operational risks.
- Carry out and sustain standardised work practices, ensuring operators follow correct sequences, safety-critical steps and quality checks.
- Collaborate with the Production Lead to address line-side interruptions, escalate abnormalities and stabilise flow.
- Support the recruitment and onboarding of new operators by providing role-specific guidance and practical coaching.
- Drive a disciplined 5S and workplace organisation culture, ensuring all stations remain audit-ready at all times.
- Coach and mentor operators, strengthening technical competence, work accuracy and adherence to Volvo’s values.
- Maintain a performance-driven environment, addressing behaviour, attendance and productivity deviations constructively.
- Conduct compliance checks on standardised work, OMS, 5S and Workplace Organisation (WPO) practices.
- Assist the Production Lead with reporting, shift handovers, takt performance reviews and troubleshooting.
- Participate in cross-functional problem-solving, collaborating with Quality, Logistics and Maintenance to improve throughput.
- Initiate and sustain continuous improvement activities, using Kaizen and VPS tools to eliminate waste and prevent rework.

Qualification & Job Experience:
- Skills level 5 with AMIC certificate, Diploma in Technical/Operations Management will be advantageous.
- Knowledge of car assembling processes
- 7 years working experience in a manufacturing and/or automotive industry
