Volvo Powertrain Technology & Industrial (PTI) is the organization that includes the global manufacturing and engineering department which works with the manufacturing processes of various products (e.g. combustion engines) and on new technology development to support our future industrial strategy.

You are motivated to work with technology development, process improvement, and project communication, with a strong focus on future-oriented solutions.
This apprenticeship within the Advanced Engineering organization will offer many opportunities, including working with (and potentially travelling to) different countries such as Sweden, Brazil, and the United States. You will collaborate with teams from different cultural backgrounds and adapt your communication style to different contexts.
As part of the Advanced Engineering Projects group, you will work closely with an ambitious local and global manufacturing engineering organization that is dynamic, engaged, and forward-looking.

 

Your main responsibilities will include :

 

  • Manage projects and communicate future technology development.
  • Lead multidisciplinary teams to implement intelligent data exploitation systems for assembly data using machine learning models
  • Support the Volvo Vision System tool by developing computer vision algorithms.
  • Support factories during the technological transition (communication, training, demonstrations, etc.)
  • Define, develop and implement processes for using and maintaining these new technologies
  • Support the integration of these new technologies within the Volvo Group worldwide

 

You will also contribute to the development of future IT platforms and create new concepts to fully connect the new technologies with new industrial systems.
