What you will do ?
At Data & AI Foundation, you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large.
You will lead the development and optimization of a modern MLOps experience and framework that enables efficient and governed AI solution delivery across Volvo for 200+ practionners. Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and evolving a user-centric MLOps environment that is intuitive, reliable, and optimized for self-service usage by data scientists and ML engineers.
- Developing and maintaining the core components of Volvo’s MLOps framework on UDP, with a strong focus on reducing operational overhead and automating repetitive tasks.
- Defining and supporting end-to-end integrations across Azure Databricks, Unity Catalog, Azure ML, Azure Data Factory, Azure DevOps, and other cloud services to deliver a cohesive MLOps ecosystem.
- Continuously assessing platform pain points, gathering user feedback, and driving iterative improvements that enhance developer experience, productivity, and operational maturity.
- Collaborating closely with platform architects, vendors, and AI practitioners to co-develop standards, best practices, and operational patterns for ML lifecycle management.
Your work will directly impact the productivity, safety, and scalability of AI usage within Volvo, enabling a frictionless and robust MLOps journey for teams across the organization.

Core competencies
MLOps & ML lifecycle
- 5+ years of experience in AI/ML engineering, with at least 3+ years focused on MLOps in enterprise environments.
- Strong understanding of the end-to-end ML lifecycle, including training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, and governance.
- Demonstrated ability to work closely with data scientists, understanding their workflows, challenges, and tooling needs.
Cloud & platform engineering
- Deep expertise with Azure Databricks, Unity Catalog, Azure ML, Azure Data Factory, and cloud-native ML services.
- Experience implementing workspace governance, access controls, and scalable policies for secure and compliant ML operations.
DevOps & automation
- Experience building and maintaining Azure DevOps pipelines and CI/CD workflows.
- Strong skills in Git-based development workflows and containerized deployments using Docker.
- Proven ability to reduce operational overhead through automation and reproducible patterns.
User-centric enablement
- Experience onboarding and supporting practitioners on ML platforms and tooling.
- Ability to translate complex platform capabilities into intuitive user journeys, documentation, and best practices.
- Strong communication and coaching skills to empower teams and drive adoption.
Governance & responsible AI
- Familiarity with data privacy, responsible AI, and compliance requirements relevant to enterprise AI environments.
