Service Leader - Application Operations and SAP services, Infrastructure & Onsite Services

Volvo Group Digital & IT 
Volvo Group Digital & IT governs the overall process and IT efficiency within the Group. The function drives the use of common processes, common IT systems, and IT infrastructure.

Infrastructure & Onsite Services (IOS)
Infrastructure & Onsite Services is in charge of all Volvo Group Digital & IT infrastructure services. As the majority of these services are delivered by a partner, the mission is focused on governing and controlling this partner, as well as managing the remaining IT infrastructure delivery teams at Volvo.

Application Services
Application Governance & Service Integration is part of the Application Services department within IOS. 

The team is divided into three functions/teams:
• Application Operations & SAP Services
• Application Governance Management
• Service Integration

We are now looking for a Service Leader within the Application Operations and SAP Services team

In this role, you will be reporting to the Service Area Manager of Application Operations & SAP Services within Volvo Group Digital & IT Infrastructure & Onsite Services/Application Services.

You will operate in a global context, interfacing with Volvo stakeholders, infrastructure partners, and strategic and tactical partners. The team also plans and chairs the operational, tactical, and strategic meetings with our infrastructure supplier and Volvo Group Digital & IT functions.

This position offers flexible work locations. You can apply from any of the following locations:
Bangalore, Gent, Göteborg, Älvstranden, Greensboro, Lyon - Vénissieux, Wroclaw.
 

Key Responsibilities

Application Operations

  • Responsible for the delivery of the portfolio of infrastructure services for Application Operations and ensuring that all services are delivered according to contracted supplier obligations based on service levels, cost, volumes, and quality.
  • Monitor the actual service levels, ensure they are in line with targeted service levels, and manage corrective actions with supplier(s).
  • Participate in selected runtime process interactions with supplier(s): oversee releases and deployments, handle escalations regarding owned services, and take responsibility for the continuous improvement of services and operational process interactions between Volvo and partner companies.
  • Participate in and/or lead initiatives and projects in areas of responsibility.
  • Manage escalations between IOS/Application Services and Application teams.
  • Propose improved application services and delivery setups for the unit(s).
  • Be accountable for the interaction model between Volvo and supplier(s) stakeholders; ensure the operational layer functions according to scope and own the tactical and strategic layers/meetings between the Volvo Group Digital & IT function, IOS, and supplier.


Service Roadmaps, Development, Architecture, and Innovation

  • Together with the rest of the AOM team, manage the full lifecycle of AOM services within Application Operations, including roadmap development, architecture, security, budgeting, enhancements, innovation, the end-user services catalog, implementation, policies and directives, and strategic directions based on business requirements and priorities from other D&IT functions and Foundational Product functions.
  • Contribute to the strategy and plans of Foundational Product (within Technology) functions in DevSecOps and SAP COE.
     

Outsourcing Partnership Management: Financial, Contractual, and Commercial Management

  • Forecast, define, and follow up on service delivery budgets and runtime cost budgets for the entire outsourcing scope of your area.
  • Provide input for contractual negotiations to modify, clarify, or optimize the services provided by the supplier(s) and potentially with sub-suppliers or other direct Volvo suppliers of infrastructure services, software, or hardware.
  • Validate supplier invoices and ensure corrections in case of discrepancies; drive volume and cost optimization.
  • Manage supplier relationships related to service development and deliveries with both the main outsourcing partner and other partners.
     

Required competencies and experience

  • University/Master's degree or equivalent in a relevant area
  • Service-oriented mindset and business mindset
  • Experience in governance: directing, planning, and monitoring of IS/IT services
  • Experience in manufacturing and supply chain operations  (is a plus)
  • Experience in functional management in a global context
  • Strong experience in Application Operations and/or SAP services
  • Experience in steering projects and programs
  • Knowledge and experience of ITIL (SIAM is a plus)
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to negotiate with multiple parties and navigate easily within different organizations
  • Complete proficiency in English
