Infrastructure & Onsite Services is in charge of all Volvo Group Digital &IT infrastructure services. As most of these services are delivered by a partner, the mission is focused on governance, as well as managing the remaining IT infrastructure delivery teams in Volvo.

Application Infrastructure

Application Infrastructure is part of the Application Services department within Infrastructure & Onsite Services. The mission of Application Infrastructure is to Develop and Govern the Infrastructure Services for applications while ensuring their delivery and usage. By that, Application Infrastructure contributes to Volvo Group competitiveness by delivering standardized and fit for purpose infrastructure services, maintaining a balance between time to market, cost, and quality.

 The Application Infrastructure organization is divided into three functions/teams:

• Application Hosting – application hosting platforms and services for Mainframe, IBMi, VMS, .NET, Java, Storage, X86 hardware, SAP Infrastructure, Cloud application hosting services
• Integration & BI - platforms and infrastructure services for integration, EDI (on premise & cloud) and Business Intelligence (on premise)
• Shared Cloud Infrastructure – the common cloud layer in order to be able to offer and expose services from Group D&IT appointed public cloud providers

Application Hosting is now looking for a Service Leader of X86 hardware and SAP infrastructure area

We are looking for a Service Leader to join our governance and operation of the application hosting services offered to the Volvo Group. In this role you will have the End-to-End responsibility of the X86 hardware and SAP infrastructure services.

You will work closely with the other Service Leaders of the application hosting sub portfolios to ensure that all services are delivered according to contracted supplier’s obligations.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage the full lifecycle of X86 hardware and SAP infrastructure services
• Propose the policies and directives, strategic directions, long term plan and roadmaps for those services
• Be the subject matter expert for those services in interaction towards Volvo, supplier and other stakeholders
• Focus on service strategy and service design: drive innovation and lead the development of services based on prioritized business requirements.
• Continuously promote the service offerings to optimize their usage and deliver maximum value to the business while fostering open communication channels to actively listen to service user feedbacks to enhance existing services and inform future developments.
• Manage the content of the X86 hardware and SAP infrastructure services catalogue and deliveries, in order to optimize the partner deliveries and the cost of the services for Volvo as well as continual improvement of the usability and ease of selection, of ordering and of implementation of the services.
• Secure input to contractual negotiations to modify, clarify or optimize the services provided by the main supplier and potentially with sub-suppliers or other direct Volvo suppliers.
• Monitor the actual services levels, control that they are in line with targeted service levels and manage corrective actions with the supplier.
• Participate in selected runtime process interactions with the supplier: releases and deployments oversight, handling escalations regarding owned services.
• Commercially responsible for services delivered by the supplier, which includes both budgeting and follow-up, notably approving all service volumes invoiced by the supplier

Who are you?

We believe you are an experienced IT leader with strong skills and solid experience in x86 Hardware and SAP infrastructure services and technologies (X86 Physical servers, VMware ESXi, Hyper-V, Hyper Converged Infrastructure, SAP HANA appliances, SAP HANA TDI)

• Ability to quickly comprehend the capabilities of new technologies
• Ability to build and maintain trustful working relationships with stakeholders, peers, external partners, and colleagues
• Strong competence in managing enterprise-level infrastructure solutions
• Strong experience in managing relationship and negotiations with IT supplier(s)
• Strong experience in Infrastructure’s operation and management according to ITIL processes
• Solid experience in product management
• Good experience in Financial, contractual and commercial management of services
• Knowledge of Public Cloud solutions is a plus (IaaS, SAP HANA)
