The Finance Director is responsible for implementing the Finance & Accounting management strategy for VFS Baltic markets. This role ensures the execution of all relevant strategic objectives and holds the ultimate responsibility for financial reporting and compliance.
The Finance Director proactively steers and controls the business by consolidating and analyzing forecasts from various business functions, including Commercial, Credit & Operations, as well as Finance & Accounting. This position reports directly to the MD VFS Baltics and is a member of the VFS Baltics Management Team. In this capacity, he/she is also responsible for the development of direct reports.
Covers the countries: Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Month-end closing and reporting, financial statement & P&L, financial planning and analysis, tax reporting and compliance, balance sheet optimization, capital allocation and returns maximization.
- Lead the Finance function, acting as a trusted business partner across all functions.
- Achieve financial results for the Market against established objectives.
- Ensures compliance with IFRS and local GAAP requirements across multiple countries, promoting a thorough understanding and documentation of accounting treatments and ensuring that all balance sheet accounts are regularly reconciled. Ensure financial control and compliance with internal and external rules, regulations, accounting principles and standards.
- Provides financial technical expertise and advice on issues to functional and operational managers in order to develop the business across all countries within the Market.
- Drive the establishment of business, operational and financial KPIs across all areas with monthly monitoring and reporting of the performance.
- Assure a strong internal control culture, sound governance and compliance across the business, by closely working with key internal and external stakeholders.
- Lead and develop a team of highly skilled, competent and knowledgeable financial, tax and treasury professionals.
- Manage the relationships with internal and external auditors.
- Participate in ad hoc projects as a business leader and technical expert as required.
- Is responsible for the cash management, that cash-related transactions are processed properly and that the funding is correctly matched.
- Strive for higher degree of automation and process improvements.
- Lead a comprehensive business control team that provides strong financial support to local market MDs and Sales/ Territory Managers, through actuals and estimates analysis, market execution planning, and clear communication of KPIs Support any management information systems projects by providing sound financial advice on accounting requirements and business reporting needs.

In this role, you will bring:
EDUCATION AND PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
- MBA or equivalent degree/professional qualification in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 5 years financial experience in asset backed finance business
- Relevant management experience
- Demonstrated expertise in establishing and maintaining appropriate accounting and financial controls in financial services for capital equipment such as heavy truck, trailers, construction equipment or buses
- Strong understanding of international accounting standards and implementation
- Experience in dealing with activities/projects across multiple European markets would be an advantage
- Substantial experience in the following:
- Preparing and consolidating financial statements according to IFRS with bridges to local GAAP in financial services
- Analysing and evaluating financial results and reports
- Implementing and enhancing financials systems
- Producing and managing periodic forecasts, annual business plans and operating expense budgets.
- Assessing and working with tax relevant to financial services across multiple markets
COMPETENCES AND SKILLS
- Excellent knowledge of financial services
- Proven track record of problem solving and change implementation
- Capability to develop short- and long-term financial planning for the business
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and experience of large corporate accounting processes
- Capability to establish and maintain a strong internal control environment
- Knowledge of local tax regulation and implications for the business results
- Knowledge of treasury tools and their impact on the business.
- Interpersonal skills to interact and influence at all levels internally and externally
- Strong team leadership
- Possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills, including an ability to network effectively across different commercial sites and to build enduring relationships within a matrix organization is essential for the position.
- Spoken and written English, second language from the market is an advantage.
TRAVEL
- The role covers multiple countries. It should be expected to travel occasionally to support local activities - estimate 30%.
- Position location: Vilnius or Riga.

Salary level: from 5.400€ to 6.500€ per month gross (before withholding taxes) depending on skills and experience. Also, annual bonus program will be applied in accordance with the Company policy.
The final salary offered is determined by several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience for the position, work-related knowledge, skills, certifications, education, etc.
