This role forms part of Group Trucks Technology (GTT), who are the truck and product development organisation within Volvo Group.
GTT is responsible for technology research, engine development, product design and all the technology and product development linked to truck operations, as well as supporting the products in the aftermarket. The organization has almost 10,000 employees working in global teams with focus on delivering world-class engineered products and services.
What you will do
As the Aftermarket Project Manager, your focus will be to secure and drive the Aftermarket Technology product project deliveries, as well as coordinate the phase in of new spare parts through to the set-up of logistics. The product areas include Repair and Technical Information solutions, Spare Parts solutions, Prognostic / Diagnostic solutions, as well as Software solutions.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
- Ensuring relevant, verified and validated Aftermarket Technology products are delivered in line with project scope
- Consolidating Aftermarket readiness between other relevant solution providers to ensure product launches are complete and well-functioning
- Interacting closely with global Aftermarket partners in the delivery of quality solutions
- Supporting the Project Leaders and GTT Management with advice on financial management and business risks associated with your area of project delivery
- Consolidating Aftermarket Technology readiness in product decision forums, with project management and vehicle development teams
- Coordinating aftermarket logistics tasks for the project including phase in of new parts, commercial packaging and total transport support
Your future team
Reporting to the Complete Vehicle Director, this role will form part of the Vehicle Engineering and Complete Vehicle division within GTT. You will work in a team of 11 alongside Quality Specialists, Project Support Services, Compliance and Test Engineer’s and a Field Test Officer. Your home base will be the Volvo Group Australia Factory Office in Wacol, Brisbane.
Who are you?

- Proven experience in managing project deliveries
- Experience in the automotive manufacturing industry would be ideal, however experience in the greater manufacturing industry will be considered
- Experience in the heavy vehicle or aftermarket spaces are highly desirable but not essential
- Relevant trade qualifications to the role (an Engineering degree is desirable but not essential)
- Excellent communication skills
- A high level of customer service acumen
