The Role

 

The purpose of the Assembly role is to assemble components and fit parts to Volvo and Mack branded trucks.

 

A Production Assembler works in a team environment to perform general production assembly and housekeeping duties as required within the truck production facility.


Other duties include:

 

Production Targets

  • Work together with the Team Leader and the team to achieve daily build targets and other team targets
  • Assemble parts on to truck by following build instructions
  • Utilise correct power tooling for the assembly work
  • Pick parts from supermarket (line side shelves)
  • Follow written standard operating procedures
  • Complete quality checks by reading build instructions and comparing to assembly work completed 

 

Performance

  • To follow the directions of the Team Leader and / or Production Leader.
  • To follow the instructions of the company in accordance with the site EBA, Award and all company policies and procedures.
  • To work within a designated team of assemblers to fit components onto the trucks.
  • To use the correct tools and equipment for assembly and fitment activities.
  • To liaise effectively with other teams as required
  • To take initiative and be involved in improving day to day business
  • Operate with a ‘Safety First’ mindset, ensuring personal safety and that of fellow workers

 

This role is being offered on a permanent full time basis on afternoon shift and an immediate start is available for the right candidate. 

About You

You love working in the manufacturing environment! and you

  • have basic numeracy/Literacy skills
  • have basic computer skills and or a willingness to learn
  • are able to follow written instructions and procedures
  • are able to perform manual work (Fitness for work)
  • are able to use hand and power tools or a willingness to learn
