Brand Manager - UD Trucks

What you will do

Take the lead in translating the Volvo brand strategy in high quality in-market marketing and communications activity: including developing and implementing a globally aligned, locally authentic Brand positioning strategy, conducting and developing competitive analysis, media strategy, communications strategy development by driving creative ideation and marketing activation of the Brand. The Brand Manager will work closely with both internal and external stakeholders including agencies in the area of positioning formulation, advertising and communication development, media planning and associated research. 

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • Responsible for the development and implementation of the Brand’s Annual Marketing & Communications Plan and Media Plan, in a way that challenges conventional marketing norms for the transportation industry. 
  • Ongoing development of campaigns in concert with internal & external partners, that continue to lift the brand to a new level. 
  • Adaptation of global assets in a locally authentic way 
  • Delivery of insights on competitor activity, marketing development and emerging marketing practices. 
  • Proactively drive marketing performance measurement and recommend improvements accordingly against planned objectives and established activity specific KPIs. 
  • Develop and implement Brand marketing and communications strategies, which promote and protect the Brand as well as support the overall business goals of VGA according to the total offer strategy. 
  • Achieving the greatest possible effectiveness and efficiency through our creative and media agency partnerships 
  • Responsible for the execution of all marketing and communication activities relating to the Brand; from ideation to production and implementation including: 
  • maintain contact with distribution centers to follow up promotion efforts and keep informed on needs of the sales force  
  • Work closely with internal stakeholders to ensure cross-promotion opportunities are harnessed. 
  • Activities include: advertising campaigns, printed materials and distribution, digital media campaigns, social media, media communications and events, POS materials, customer events and trade show participation etc. 
  • Produce Briefing documentation for marketing & communication projects and liaise with external marketing and communications agencies.  
  • Planning and managing all aspects of the Brand’s annual marketing budget.  
  • Ensure all Brand communication is in line with global brand strategy. Adapt and use global communication material when possible. 
  • Responsible for securing brand guidelines and brand platform implementation in the dealer network in cooperation with the Dealer Communications Manager.  
  • Managing submissions for internal communications.  
  • Ensuring that the Brand website is up-to-date, kept optimised and populated with relevant content – both for product and aftermarket content.  
  • Development and preparation of presentation materials and other tools required to brief internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Managing and producing the Brand customer printed magazine and digital format (where applicable). 
  • Managing and producing (where applicable) Brand calendars. 
  • Responsible for launch projects from a brand, marketing & communications stand-point. 
  • Developing and implementing marketing and communications strategy and execution to drive sales and to build the image and reputation of the defined truck brand. 
  • Ensure that all activities are measured for ROI.   
  • Participate fully as an active member of the Brand, Marketing & Communications team and undertake project work.  

Who are you?

Educational Qualifications 

  • Formal marketing or business related qualifications (tertiary level) 

 

Business skills & attributes 

  • At least six years’ experience working in marketing or related field.  
  • Ability to navigate corporate, complex, global environments.  
  • Strong agency experience, either inhouse or management of.  
  • Experience working with marketing communication across different channels. 
  • Strong digital marketing experience.  
  • Superior marketing insights experience. 
  • Strong project management and prioritisation capability.  
  • Strong, clear decision-making and creative problem solving skills. 
  • Budget management experience. 
  • Experience of Australian market execution of global brand, advantageous.  
  • Knowledge of the Australian truck market (desirable). 
  • Open, outgoing personality. Excellent communication skills. 
  • Strong commitment and drive to take initiatives, improve and deliver. Structured and systematic way of working. Open minded and fast learner. 
  • Team player. Strong people, relationship building and networking skills. 
  • Positive and service minded attitude.
