What you will do

As the Competence Development Manager, you have the opportunity to be permanently based from Brisbane, Singapore or Hong Kong, depending on the region you are local to. Your focus will be to drive the successful adoption of competence development across the Asia Pacific region. Collaborating closely with regional management teams, you will plan and conduct competence development programs, analyse competence development needs and secure the relevant solutions.

 

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Keep up to date with all new Volvo Buses products and procedures for the Asia Pacific region to ensure a high level of expertise
  • Prioritising the Electromobility entry into each region
  • Implement appropriate competence development programs (in conjunction with Volvo Buses Global Service Training) to safeguard that new products introduced into each market will be supported in line with customer expectations
  • Support regions with the development and execution of new launch training implementation plans
  • Support each region to diagnose challenges and competence gaps that can be appropriately addressed by training interventions
  • Develop Competence Development Training Programs (Bus Technical, Parts, Systems), targets and evaluations for each region that can be fulfilled and rolled out annually to our target groups - Dealers, Customers and Volvo employees
  • Provide necessary reports periodically to comply with Competence Development KPI’s and deliverables
  • Ensuring all Electromobility Certification requirements and records are implemented and updated.

Who are you?

We believe that your personal attributes are just as important as your technical skills, so ideally you will have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Education, Training or related field
  • A minimum of 5 years’ competency development experience, preferably in a heavy vehicle industry
  • A passion for and sound knowledge of competence development management and coaching
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and enjoy working with all levels of employees
  • Result and action orientation to meet objectives and targets
  • Exposure to different cultures in the Asia Pacific region and ability to adapt to different environments and audience
  • Fully proficient in Microsoft Office applications (knowledge of MS Access preferred)
  • Experience in LMS systems, Course Design & E-Learning creation (preferred).
