At Volvo Group Australia, we’re on a journey to redefine the future of transport. As Director – Retail Sales, you’ll take the reins of UD Trucks' retail sales strategy and lead a passionate sales team committed to delivering strong market performance and exceptional customer experiences.
This is your opportunity to lead a team of Sales Representatives shaping national strategy, influence dealer partnerships, and embed customer value through a total solutions approach across trucks, services, and connected technologies.
What you’ll be doing:
- Develop and execute the UD Trucks retail sales strategy in alignment with business goals.
- Lead and mentor a national sales team, promoting a culture of accountability, agility, and collaboration.
- Drive truck and soft product sales performance through strategic business development.
- Partner with dealers to set annual sales targets, business plans, and KPIs.
- Manage pricing approvals, oversee inventory, and ensure optimal stock turnover.
- Champion the Total Solutions and Insight Driven Sales approach across the network.
- Monitor financial results, analyse market trends, and implement data-driven action plans.
- Drive continuous improvement in sales operations, process efficiency, and customer experience.
- Represent VGA with key customers, dealers, and industry stakeholders.
- Develop leadership capability within your team through coaching, performance development, and succession planning.
Who are you?
- A proven sales leader with extensive experience at a senior level, ideally in a complex, multi-brand or international environment.
- Strong commercial acumen and experience managing sales strategy, tender processes, and pricing frameworks.
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams through change and growth.
- Deep knowledge of the commercial vehicle industry and B2B/fleet sales.
- Experience working collaboratively with dealer networks and cross-functional teams.
- Strong analytical and financial reporting skills with a track record of achieving commercial targets.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or related field (or equivalent experience).
- International experience and exposure to continuous improvement frameworks are highly regarded.
