What you will do
As a Financial Accountant at Volvo Group Australia, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient execution of accounting and reporting activities to support our business operations. Reporting directly to the Chief Accountant, you will be responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting in compliance with local GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards.
Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Deliver accounting and financial reporting for Volvo Group Australia in compliance with accounting policies, procedures and IFRS, ensuring timely month end close
- Conduct detailed analysis of the general ledger, identifying and resolving issues or anomalies, and collaborating closely with Business Controllers during monthly balance sheet reconciliations
- Perform general accounting tasks, including posting and reviewing journal entries
- Support annual audits processes, including Volvo Group annual financial audit, internal audits and annual statutory audit
- Assist in the preparation of statutory financial statements
- Support stock-take processes in coordination with external auditors and internal stakeholders
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen internal controls in accounting and reporting
- Be able to work effectively in a high-performing team environment, balancing individual responsibilities while actively supporting team members and contributing to shared goals
- Undertake other general accounting tasks as assigned.
Who are you?

- Bachelor’s degree in commerce or business with a major in accounting or equivalent
- Membership of CAANZ/CPA
- Previous accounting experience in a commercial environment particularly in month end activities or experience in a multinational audit firm
- Strong analytical and communication skills
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage workflow with minimal supervision
- Curious, Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong focus on results and a problem-solving approach
