Volvo Construction Equipment (VCE) are a global leader in construction solutions, offering premium products and services focused on sustainability and performance. Our VCE range includes articulated haulers, rigid haulers, excavators, wheel loaders and demolition equipment. Our compact specific range includes compact wheel loaders (CWL - up to 10T), compact excavators (CEX - up to 9.5T) and e-mobility machines (both CEX and CWL).

 

What you will do

As the Head of Compact Business Unit (CBU) – Oceania, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and dealer performance across the Oceania region through targeted Volvo dealers. With a strong focus on Volvo Compact Products and Services, including E-Mobility machines, you will lead the development and execution of strategies to increase dealer engagement, product capability, and market share.

 

Your area of responsibility will include but not be limited to:

  • Developing and owning the strategic direction for compact equipment sales across Oceania, with a strong focus on expanding market penetration, driving dealer engagement, and increasing total sales volume and market share
  • Taking a lead role in shaping and executing the regional transformation strategy for electric compact equipment, by supporting dealer and customer readiness for the shift to sustainable technologies
  • Leading initiatives to uplift dealer capability in sales, product knowledge and aftermarket support, to ensure readiness and performance across key markets
  • Directing regional market intelligence activities, including competitor analysis, customer segmentation, and geographic opportunity assessments
  • Collaborating closely with aftersales and service teams to ensure a seamless customer experience, including coordination of parts, service and attachment solutions, aligned with customer and market needs
  • Serve as the single point of contact between the Oceania market and the global Compact Equipment and OEM organisations, as well as advocating for regional needs, influencing product planning, and aligning global objectives.

Your future team

You will report to the CBU Head of Sales and Channel to Market, based in Europe, and work alongside a global team of CBU Head’s and Product Manager’s. Although your role is a stand-alone position, you will work in Wacol, Brisbane with three other Volvo Construction Equipment (VCE) employees. Our dedicated VCE team aims to build a better world through a strong distribution network and expertise in sustainability and electromobility.

Who are you?

  • Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate discipline, or equivalent commercial business experience
  • A deep understanding of the construction equipment industry, with demonstrated ability to leverage dealer networks and sales channels
  • A high level of self-motivation, with a proactive mindset and the ability to operate independently while maintaining alignment with broader strategic objectives
  • Strong personal accountability and a results-driven approach, with a commitment to timely and effective dealer support and stakeholder engagement
  • Exceptional interpersonal and relationship management skills
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to balance competing priorities, as well as being responsive to change
  • Strong business acumen and advanced influencing and negotiation capabilities that support mutually beneficial outcomes
  • A high level of personal integrity and ethical standards, consistently setting and upholding high-performance expectations.
