This role will work with our Group Digital & IT division, who are based at our Head Office in Wacol.

 

What you will do

As a Trainee for Group Digital & IT, you will gain hands on learning and development opportunities through real work situations and projects. This opportunity will see you working on a Cyber Security project with the greater team, as well as assisting with “business as usual” activities.

 

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

  • Supporting the IT Infrastructure and Onsite Services Manager with daily IT tasks
  • Assisting the team with Cyber Security project work – this could include assisting with audits, helping to improve cyber security systems, assisting with the creation of a new cyber security framework etc.
  • Collecting and collating information for the team to produce accurate and relevant reports
  • Assisting the greater team day-to-day business activities to continue to learn Volvo Group’s ways of working

Your future team

This role will initially be a 6 month position, with the possibility of an extension, dependent on the business needs. This will most likely be a part time role, with the team being flexible with hours, depending on your study commitments. Reporting to the IT Infrastructure and Onsite Services Manager, you will work in a greater team of 13 which is made up of Infrastructure Operations Specialists and Network and Support Specialists. This role will be based at our Head Office in Wacol.

  • Currently studying a Bachelor of IT or Bachelor of Cyber Security
  • A second or third year student (to tie in with the skill level of work offered)
  • Self-motivated to manage their own work under guidance and show initiative where appropriate
  • Able to follow procedures and be a thoughtful and confident communicator
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office 365 suite
  • Strong in the areas of research and business analysis
