About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Engineering Intern with AutoCAD experience to support our engineering team in updating and creating manufacturing plant layouts for heavy-duty truck production. This is an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in industrial engineering, factory design, and real-world manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Update existing factory layout drawings using AutoCAD
- Develop new layout designs for production lines, equipment, and workflow optimization
- Interpret engineering sketches, specifications, and technical data
- Collaborate with engineers and production teams to ensure layout accuracy
- Maintain organized drawing files and revision records
- Assist with space utilization and process improvement projects
Requirements
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field
- Proficiency in AutoCAD (2D required; 3D is a plus)
- Strong attention to detail and technical accuracy
- Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Basic understanding of manufacturing processes is desirable
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous internship or academic project involving plant layouts or production systems
- Familiarity with heavy industry, machinery, or automotive manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or workflow optimization concepts
