Maintenance Electrician

What you will do

  • Provide electrical support and technical expertise to the truck production facility, ensuring plant and equipment are safe, reliable and available for production.
  • Carry out preventive and corrective electrical maintenance on machines, equipment and installations, with a strong focus on safety, quality and cost‑effective solutions.
  • Lead fault‑finding and problem‑solving activities for electrical breakdowns on site, identifying root causes and implementing sustainable fixes.
  • Read, interpret and, where required, modify electrical circuit drawings and schematics, and ensure work is accurately recorded in the maintenance management system.
  • Support projects and improvement works, including electrical installations, instrumentation, PLC and CNC related tasks.
  • Work closely with internal site customers to understand their needs, provide timely support and minimise production downtime.
  • Offer guidance to apprentices and trainees when required, contributing to their on‑the‑job training and development.
  • Adhere to all Workplace Health & Safety and Environmental requirements, and take reasonable steps to protect people, equipment and the environment.

Who are you?

Essential requirements (must‑have)

  • Current QLD Electrical Licence, including valid CPR / LVR.
  • Trade qualification as a Maintenance Electrician, Electrical Fitter or Electrical Mechanic.
  • Proven experience in a plant or production maintenance environment, with the ability to safely maintain and fault‑find on industrial machinery and equipment.
  • Ability to read, interpret and, where required, modify electrical circuit drawings and schematics.
  • Strong teamworking skills, with the ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with people at all levels across the site.
  • Commitment to safety, environmental responsibility and quality, and to following established procedures and standards.

Nice to have

  • 3+ years’ experience in a plant maintenance or similar production maintenance environment.
  • Exposure to PLC and CNC systems, including basic programming, troubleshooting and maintenance.
  • Experience using a maintenance management system to log, action and record work.
  • Good general computer skills, including Microsoft Office (e.g. Outlook, Word, Excel).
  • Interest in supporting projects, continuous improvement activities, and in mentoring apprentices and trainees.
