Product Manager - Mack Trucks

What you will do

At Volvo Group Australia you will contribute to the transformation of our company, the transport industry and society at large. You will be the Mack Trucks product expert, providing guidance, training, and communication to drive customer satisfaction, market share, and profitability.

 

Key Responsibilities 

  • The primary expert for the Mack Trucks product range, providing strategic and tactical guidance for initiatives such as: increased customer satisfaction, increased market share and profitability growth 
  • Be fully conversant with the features and benefits of new and existing Mack Trucks models and equivalent competitor comparisons 
  • Provide Mack Trucks strategic and tactical product guidance to Sales, Marketing and Communications and Business Intelligence 
  • Provide Mack Trucks product support to the Pricing Analyst for the price positioning and cost analysis and packaging studies  
  • Work with the Mack Brand Manager to ensure that the product information within specification sheets, brochures and on website is correct for all brand product currently on sale within the Australian Market according to block week guidelines 
  • Work with Mack Trucks Sales organisation to develop PMR business cases to ensure all customer and business requirements are considered and submit to relevant business 
  • Manage and coordinate Commercial Launch Projects for Mack Trucks products through engagement of key stakeholders 
  • Plan and coordinate the specification of Project Contract build, Industrial Build, Pre-Series or Production Demo vehicles to ‘Event ready’ stage in conjunction with Brand Marketing for internal or external Product Launch events 
  • Plan and coordinate the specification of Project Contract build, Industrial build, Pre-Series or Production Demo vehicles to ‘Customer Handover’ stage in conjunction with Selling/Repairing Dealer for Customer trucks from a Project perspective eg. Supporting Project Campaign activities 
  • Plan and chair the Mack Trucks Dealer Product Reference Group (DPRG) meetings 
  • Plan, develop and publish product information updates to the commercial organisation via Product Hub; minimum 4 times per year in line with Product Intro blocks 
  • In conjunction with Competence Development, plan, develop and conduct proprietary and competitor product update training throughout the VGA dealer network 
  • Demonstrate ability to actively work within the VGA market company and dealership organisations in a manner that is positive, proactive and supports VGA’s business, strategic and cultural objectives

Qualifications & Experience 

 

  • Significant industry experience and knowledge 
  • High computer literacy 
  • General understanding of truck market 
  • Truck engineering and truck componentry 
  • Preparation and presentation of product information materials 
  • Ability to collaborate with global networks 
  • Awareness of cultural differences and challenges, in particular Asia, Europe and North America 
  • Positive and proactive way of working 
  • Ability to navigate through complex issues for positive outcomes
