This role will work for Volvo Commercial Vehicles (VCV), who are the primary commercial vehicle distribution centre’s for Volvo Trucks and Buses, Mack Trucks and UD Trucks.
What you will do
Volvo Commercial Vehicles are looking for a self-motivated team player to join our Fit Up Centre based in Wacol. The Fit Up Centre is our Pre-Delivery area which focuses on modifications to our trucks prior to being delivered to the customer.
As we are flexible with skill-sets when recruiting for our team, we are open to qualified Mechanical backgrounds, qualified Auto-Electrical backgrounds or Trade Assistant’s with truck experience.
You will be responsible for but not limited to:
- Fitting components and parts
- Running wires and cables
- Light mechanical adjustments
- Parameter programming
- Electrical component integrations
- Quality checking of vehicles
- Basic MIG & TIG welding (only if called upon)
Alongside the above, there is the potential for future training to work on EV vehicles, as Volvo Group continues to lead the charge
Your future team
The Fit Up Centre forms part of our greater Volvo Commercial Vehicles Brisbane South dealership. Reporting to the Workshop supervisor, the team of roughly 40 is made up of Mechanics, Auto-Electricians, Trades Assistants, Fabricators, Painters and office-based staff. The team pride themselves on running a quality and highly efficient operation, in a supportive team environment.
Who are you?
Do you dream big? We do too, and we are excited to grow together. In this role, you will bring:
- Light or heavy mechanical qualification with experience in a commercial environment (for Mechanic roles only)
- Auto Electrical qualification (for Auto-Electrical roles only)
- Experience as a mechanical Trades Assistant in a commercial environment (TA roles only)
- Experience performing mechanical and / or electrical work on trucks and buses
- A pro-active attitude with a drive to work efficiently
- A positive safety attitude with a team-focused mindset
- The appropriate Australian working rights for a permanent role
