We’re looking for a passionate and commercially minded Buyer to join our team in Warwick. This is a pivotal role where you’ll bring your purchasing expertise to a business that values sustainable, smart solutions and bold ideas whether you're an experienced Buyer ready for the next step, or a seasoned Senior Buyer looking for an opportunity to make an impact at a company that’s redefining the transport landscape.

You’ll work on multi-million-pound sourcing projects, supplier negotiations, and workshop improvements. From electric truck charging infrastructure to construction renovations, and from contract renewals to supplier performance analysis, every day will bring challenges, variety, and visibility across Volvo Trucks.

Who Are You and Who Are Your New Colleagues?

You’re someone who thrives in a dynamic environment, balancing detail and big-picture thinking, relationships and results. Whether it’s identifying savings opportunities, negotiating with suppliers, or solving problems with your stakeholders.

 

  • Proven experience in purchasing, ideally in a complex or technical environment
  • Experience negotiating contracts and managing supplier performance
  • Confidence working with legal agreements and understanding commercial clauses
  • Ability to interpret and work with financial data
  • Good working knowledge of supply chain management principles
  • Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and ideally SAP Ariba
  • A mindset that thrives in operational detail but never loses sight of strategy
  • Desirable: CIPS qualification (Level 4 or higher) or a degree in a relevant subject

 

You’ll be joining a close-knit purchasing team and reporting directly to our Head of GER, UK, POL & IT Purchasing. You’ll also work closely with other buyers across Europe and in the UK, working with the CFO, legal and key stakeholders.

What will you do?

You’ll be working at both strategic and operational levels, leading sourcing projects, supporting global procurement initiatives, and delivering real commercial results.

 

  • Leading regional purchasing activity in line with defined frameworks and strategies
  • Negotiating and signing local supplier agreements
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and contributing directly to business performance
  • Use data and insight to influence decisions and drive supplier performance
  • Managing spot buys and advising on best-value procurement options
  • Providing expert guidance to internal stakeholders throughout the procurement cycle
  • Supporting the implementation of global and regional sourcing strategies at a local level
  • Collaborating with global buyers on supplier evaluations, tender processes, and contract rollouts
  • Tracking contract compliance and driving improvements where needed
