We are looking for a Tax Accountant Specialist to bring their technical tax expertise to our UK and Ireland businesses. This is an opportunity to take ownership of key tax reporting, compliance and planning activities within a global financial services organisation. You will be working alongside experienced finance and tax professionals and have a genuine impact on how we manage, control and plan tax across the businesses.

Who are you?
You are a qualified finance or tax professional with experience in financial services who combines strong technical tax knowledge with commercial thinking. You enjoy solving complex problems, working with stakeholders and finding opportunities to improve processes and manage tax risk.
You will ideally bring:
- A relevant qualification such as ICAEW, ACCA, CTA or ATT
- Strong experience in UK Corporation Tax, including complex computations and capital allowances
- Experience with VAT reporting and a good understanding of tax legislation, particularly within leasing or financial services
- Experience working in an international organisation or professional practice environment
- Strong analytical, problem solving and communication skills, with the confidence to work with stakeholders at all levels
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy and reliability, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills, with experience of automation tools such as Microsoft Power Platform or Alteryx being an advantage
What will you do day to day?
Reporting to the Financial Controller and working closely with Volvo Group Tax, internal stakeholders and external advisors, you will take ownership of key tax activities across the UK and Ireland. You will assist in managing risk, identify opportunities and ensure we continue to operate to the highest standards.
- Lead tax reporting across the UK and Ireland region, including VAT, Intrastat, Corporation Tax and relevant employee-related taxes
- Prepare accurate and timely tax information for month end, statutory and internal Volvo Group reporting
- Manage transfer pricing documentation, including Local File requirements and reporting
- Act as a key point of contact for tax queries, working with Volvo Group Tax, HMRC, external tax advisors and third party tax service providers to ensure accurate reporting and compliance
- Monitor changes in UK and Ireland tax legislation, assess their impact and implement changes needed to maintain compliance
- Identify and support tax planning opportunities, including capital allowance optimisation and lease-specific tax structures
- Provide specialist tax input into new products and business initiatives, while supporting and developing the Tax Accountant
