We are looking for an experienced Digital Product Owner to join the People & Culture Digitalization and People Experience team at Volvo Group. In this role, you will shape the future of our HyperAutomation product landscape, driving digital solutions that enable smarter, more efficient ways of working for employees across the globe. This is a one-year acting role projected to start in August 2026, with potential of the full-time position after.

What will you do?

As the Digital Product Owner for the HyperAutomation Stable Team, you will be responsible for maximizing the value delivered by the team's products and solutions. You will own and prioritize the product backlog, champion the product vision, and enable the team to deliver impactful outcomes by translating strategic objectives into a clear and actionable roadmap. Working closely with Digital Product Managers, business stakeholders, subject matter experts, software engineers, suppliers, and end users, you will drive product discovery, prioritization, and continuous improvement. You will ensure alignment with People & Culture and People & Culture Digital Technologies strategies while balancing business needs, user experience, and technical considerations. As a key member of the Stable Team, you will foster agile ways of working, support data-driven decision-making, and help shape products that improve the daily experience of Volvo Group employees worldwide.

Your key responsibilities are:  

  • Own and drive the vision, strategy, and success of digital products within the team's scope.
  • Lead product discovery activities, translating business needs and customer insights into valuable product outcomes.
  • Manage and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring work is aligned with strategic objectives and delivers maximum business value.
  • Define and refine product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria to enable effective delivery by the stable team.
  • Collaborate closely with stakeholders, business partners, and cross-functional teams to align priorities and achieve shared outcomes.
  • Communicate product vision, roadmap, progress, risks, and opportunities to stakeholders and leadership.
  • Continuously monitor product performance, customer feedback, and business outcomes to identify improvement opportunities and drive product evolution.
  • Ensure appropriate metrics, analytics, and feedback mechanisms are in place to measure product value and team effectiveness.
  • Manage dependencies across teams and proactively remove obstacles that may impact delivery.
  • Contribute to product roadmap planning and support capacity planning to ensure sustainable delivery.
  • Ensure products comply with architecture standards, security requirements, regulatory obligations, and digital product strategy.
  • Own the end-to-end lifecycle management of products and solutions, from inception through maintenance and eventual decommissioning.
  • Ensure service levels and operational performance meet agreed business expectations.
  • Manage product budgets and financial performance to maximize value delivery.
  • Foster a collaborative, customer-focused culture and support the ongoing development of team capabilities and ways of working. 

Who are you?

You are an experienced Digital Product Owner who thrives at the intersection of business and technology. You have a proven ability to translate strategic objectives into product outcomes, align stakeholders around a common vision, and drive value through digital products. 

You are comfortable operating in complex, global environments and balancing customer needs, business priorities, and technical considerations. With a strong product mindset, you know how to prioritize effectively, make data-informed decisions, and guide teams towards delivering meaningful outcomes. 

To succeed in this role, you bring: 

  • Proven experience as a Digital Product Owner, Product Owner, Product Manager, or a similar role. 
  • Strong experience with agile ways of working and product-centric delivery. 
  • Expertise backlog management, prioritization, and roadmap execution. 
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills. 
  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in an international environment. 
  • A collaborative mindset, sound judgement, and the confidence to drive change and make decisions.
