What you will do

We, at Enterprise IT Security, are on a mission to secure the IT journey for the Volvo Group. We work closely together with stakeholders across several Business Areas (BAs), Truck Divisions (TDs), and Group Functions (GFs). While the BAs are responsible for driving the business, the TDs provide research, development, manufacturing and assembly. Within Volvo Group, the GFs own the Group agenda, provide strategic direction and have global responsibility.

About the role:

As a Digital Product Owner, you will play a pivotal role in building the capability and enhancing the ways of working within the EITS – IT Security Advisory team across various teams at the Volvo Group. Your expertise will be essential in establishing scalable and flexible security advisory that aligns with our organizational objectives. You will collaborate with Head of Advisory sub-function and with cross-functional teams to foster a culture of security integration within our digital products, enabling innovation while ensuring that we can adapt to evolving security needs and challenges.

 

Key Responsibilities:

•Stakeholder Management:
o Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to ensure alignment and collaboration on security initiatives.
o Act as a liaison between technical teams and business units to facilitate effective communication and understanding of security requirements and needs.
o Collaborate with Advisory and Services leadership to identify opportunities for team expansion within the security advisory function. Advocate for the business growth of the advisory capability.

•    Communication:
o    Clearly articulate the goals, and progress of security advisory initiatives to stakeholders at all levels.
o    Develop and deliver presentations, reports, and updates to communicate security strategies and outcomes effectively.

•    Consulting / Advisory Mindset:
o    Analyze existing processes and identify opportunities for improvement in security advisory practices.
o    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate security considerations into digital product development and innovation.

•    Capability Building:
o    Lead efforts to enhance the capabilities of the security advisory team, ensuring they are equipped with the necessary tools and knowledge.
o    Establish scalable and flexible security advisory processes that align with organizational objectives and industry standards.

•    Collaboration and Integration:
o    Work closely with the Head of Advisory sub-function to align security strategies with overall business goals.
o    Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of digital product development.

 

By focusing on these responsibilities, the Digital Product Owner will play a crucial role in enhancing the security posture of the Volvo Group while fostering collaboration and innovation across teams.

Who are you?

Skills and knowledge:
•    Project Management:
o    Proficiency in project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) to effectively plan, execute, and monitor projects.
•    Security Knowledge:
o    Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, frameworks, and best practices (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001, CIS Controls).
•    Technical Proficiency:
o    Knowledge of digital product development processes, including software development life cycle (SDLC) and DevSecOps practices.
•    Risk Management:
o    Skills in identifying, assessing, and mitigating security risks associated with digital products and services.
•    Documentation and Reporting:
o    Ability to prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for stakeholders, summarizing project progress and security initiatives.

Minimum Education and Experience:
•    Bachelor’s or master’s degree in cyber security, information technology, Information Systems, Engineering, a related field or equivalent work experience.
•    10+ years’ experience in IT Operations, Security & Development or Architecture.
