About the role

We accelerates value creation at scale through  the adoption of new digital technologies. We're now seeking someone who shares our vision and is eager to develop breakthrough solutions with us.

 

We are ready to hire from any of the following locations: Bangalore (India) / Wrocław (Poland) / Lyon (France) / Göteborg or Skövde (Sweden)

Work type: Our ideal candidate would be fully onsite however, we’re open to a flexible hybrid arrangement that includes regular office attendance

Team size and roles in the team: Around 25 people that consists of Managers, Digital Product Managers, Digital Product Owners, Developers
 

Challenges in the role:

Leading IoT & Edge Computing today means more than just managing connected devices — it’s about enabling strategic growth, driving digital transformation on the shop floor, and shaping the future of Smart Digital Manufacturing.
By combining AI/ML with Edge capabilities, we have the opportunity to optimize production, enhance real-time decision-making, and unlock new use cases across Volvo Group.
This role is key in accelerating Citizen Development by simplifying platforms and tools, and in fostering strong collaboration with stakeholders to achieve operational excellence and scalability.

What you will do

  • Define and execute the IoT and Edge Computing strategy aligned with business goals. 
  • Lead cross-functional teams through the full product development lifecycle — from discovery to launch. 
  • Inspire and grow high-performing product and technology teams by promoting a culture of accountability, autonomy, and innovation. 
  • Create an organization that is curious and hungry to learn and knows what good looks like 
  • Monitor market and tech trends, identifying opportunities to drive competitive advantage. 
  • Ensure seamless integration between product initiatives and business functions across the organization. 
  • Champion product quality, scalability, user experience, and platform security across all digital touchpoints.
  • Facilitate knowledge sharing and inspire the use of IoT & Edge Computing technologies across the Volvo Group 
  • Demonstrate an inclusive leadership, and you communicate at ease with your team and business stakeholders

This position offers a fantastic opportunity to shape the strategy for the further development of IoT and EDGE computing as part of the Industry 4.0 evolution. Additionally, it involves scaling up of existing technologies to implement new use cases in accordance with business colleagues' expectations. We haven't yet fully realized the potential of this technology, so an exciting journey lies ahead.

  • 10+ years of experience in a senior product and technology leadership, with a proven track record of managing diverse teams and complex programs on a global scale.
  • Demonstrated success in building and scaling product and tech strategies within digital businesses. 
  • Experience in the development and IoT and Edge Computing solutions
  • Deep expertise in software development processes, platform architecture, and modern tech stacks. 
  • Strong background in leading organizations through digital transformation and driving adoption of innovative technologies in fast-paced, agile environments. 
  • Strategic thinker with a data-driven mindset and excellent business judgment. 
  • Influential communicator, capable of building trust and alignment across senior stakeholders.
