Volvo Group Digital & IT is looking for a Senior Data Engineer!

Volvo Group Digital & IT manages the Group’s overall IT strategies and has the end-to-end responsibility for all development, delivery, support of IT solutions and services for the Volvo Group.   
We are looking for a Senior Data Engineer to our team in Volvo Truck Aftersales organization to build a new solution for spare parts analytics. This new solution will be built on top of our unified data platform (UDP) in Azure to replace old legacy solutions which we have today. In this project you will work closely with a data analyst and data architect. We expect you to be able to assist and guide our other Data Engineers.

Your role:

  • Providing data in the appropriate format, granularity and accuracy to the platform and end-users on Azure environments     
  • Using modern data preparation, integration tools    
  • Implementing and improving ETL workflows   
  • Work in a cross-functional agile team and international teams (France, Poland, India, Sweden, Belgium) to continuously experiment, iterate and deliver on new product objectives.    
  • Pre-process, clean and structure data to facilitate data exploration and advanced analytics/Machine Learning activities.
     

Who are you?

  • You are graduated with a master’s degree in computer science, Data Engineering or any related field    
  • You have previous experience in building ETL/ELT processes using Informatica PC/IICS, Microsoft Integration Services or similar tool(s) for at least 5 years 
  • Cloud service platform expertise; preferably Azure 
  • Databases (like SQL Server or Netezza) don’t have any secret for you    
  • Knowledge of at least five of these services: Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Databricks, Azure SQL Database, Power BI, Spark, Python, Mongo DB, Azure Functions
  • You care about agile software processes, data-driven development, reliability, and responsible experimentation.    
  • Capacity to work in an international environment using English 
  • You are proactive problem solver with innovative thinking and a strong team player
  • You take ownership at work  
  • Agile - flexibility to execute available tasks in a rapidly changing environment
