What you will do

As a Senior Solution Engineer, you are a member of a stable team and will work closely with digital product owner, solution engineers, developers, data analysts and business stakeholders, to lead complex requirements and solution design, translating business process into delivery. Your focus is to understand business needs, translate them into clear and effective solution designs, and ensure successful implementation across the VFS Finance Platform. Together with your colleagues at VFS and in the broad cross-functional network at the Volvo Group, you will take responsibilities in the following areas:

  • Analyze complex business requirements and translate them into clear functional and technical specifications, solution designs, and user stories.
  • Own the end‑to‑end technical solution, architecture, and evolution of business and finance platforms in alignment with enterprise standards.
  • Develop deep hands‑on expertise in assigned systems, including configuration, data models, workflows, integrations, and platform capabilities.
  • Translate complex requirements into precise functional and technical specifications, solution designs, and user stories.
  • Design scalable, performant, secure, and compliant solutions, defining optimal configuration and integration patterns.
  • Act as technical authority and decision maker on solution feasibility, trade‑offs, and system limitations.
  • Validate solution designs, configurations, builds, and non‑functional requirements across the delivery lifecycle.
  • Lead configuration management and change impact analysis across processes, data, and integrations.
  • Support and govern development, testing (functional/UAT), release management, and global deployments.
  • Monitor run‑time stability and performance, define KPIs, and perform root‑cause analysis for incidents and defects.
  • Drive continuous technical improvement through optimization, simplification, automation, and system enhancements.
  • Maintain high‑quality technical documentation, including solution architecture, configuration, process flows, and integrations.
  • Oversee managed services and support teams to ensure operational excellence across global markets.

Qualifications likely required to be successful in this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, Finance, or equivalent practical experience in solution engineering or technical business analysis.
  • 7+ years of experience designing and analyzing complex IT solutions, with strong ability to decompose business problems into functional requirements, technical specifications, and implementable user stories.
  • 7+ years of experience working on IT delivery projects in financial services or regulated environments, supporting complex, transaction‑driven systems.
  • Proven expertise in structured problem solving, including issue decomposition, root‑cause analysis, hypothesis validation, and delivery of concrete, measurable outcomes.
  • Strong experience in process modelling and system behavior analysis, including workflows, decision logic, validations, exception handling, and end‑to‑end operational flows.
  • Ability to identify functional, technical, and data risks, assess downstream impacts, and propose improvements to processes, system design, or operational models.
  • Hands‑on experience supporting test design and validation, including test scenario definition, data validation, SQL‑based checks, and close collaboration with development and QA teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive solution design activities, including business logic design, configuration models, data mapping, integration requirements, and non‑functional considerations such as performance and scalability.
  • High level of technical literacy, enabling effective collaboration with engineers and architects on topics such as integrations, data flows, APIs, fintech platforms, and end‑to‑end system behavior (without requiring deep coding expertise).
  • Strong analytical and planning skills, with the ability to manage complexity, prioritize effectively, and work across multiple dependencies.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non‑technical stakeholders and work effectively within cross‑functional teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in English (written and spoken).
  • Knowledge of financial services and regulated domains is a strong advantage.
  • Experience with Asset Finance, Credit Management, Collections, Repossession/Inventory, or Document Management systems is a plus.

This position is based at the VFS office Wroclaw, Poland. Remote or hybrid arrangements are not applicable for this role.
