What you will do
At Technology, Foundational Products you will play a key role in shaping the future within Volvo Group through digital transformation powered by Cloud technology. You will architect and build scalable, secure and resilient solutions on Cloud, drive cloud mordernization initiatives, build robust reference architectures to accelarate innovation.
Your future team
You will join a central advisory team that collaborates with product teams to define and build the digital foundation, including reference architectures, software components and starter kits to accelerate software development.
Who are you?
We are looking for Cloud Solution Architect with Java background, 10+ years of expertise in software engineering and architecture to play a leading role in shapping innovative Cloud Solutions focused on design excellence and architecture agility.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and architect software solutions using a variety of architectural patterns such as microservices, monolithic, and event-driven architectures.
- Model and conceptualize software designs to translate complex requirements into scalable and maintainable systems.
- Design, develop, and manage cloud solutions with a focus on security, resilience, and performance.
- Lead technical discussions with software engineers and solution architects to define and refine the digital foundation and architectural standards.
- Accurately capture business and technical requirements and translate them into architectural designs.
- Manage differing technical viewpoints and perspectives, facilitating consensus and effective decision-making among cross-functional teams.
- Contribute to multiple projects and products across different business domains, leveraging diverse experience to promote best practices.
- Drive application modernization efforts, guiding teams through rearchitecting and replatforming initiatives.
Required Skills and Experience
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering and/or software architecture.
- Proficiency in Java development.
- Proven experience designing software using multiple architectural patterns: microservices, monolith, and event-driven.
- Deep knowledge of software design principles and the ability to model software at a conceptual level.
- Experience designing and deploying secure, resilient, and high-performance cloud solutions.
- Excellent skills in leading and facilitating technical discussions between software engineers and solution architects.
- Strong communication skills to manage diverse perspectives and build consensus.
- Experience across multiple domains and business contexts.
- 5+ years of experience with Kubernetes and container platforms.
- Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, and Quarkus.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like GitHub Actions and Azure DevOps.
- Deep understanding of Azure Well-Architected Framework guidelines.
- 7+ years of experience hosting solutions on cloud platforms, preferably Azure, addressing challenges related to security, networking, and scalability.
- Knowledge of AI agentic architectures.
Preferred Qualifications
- Azure or AWS Solution Architect certification, or equivalent.
- Java Developer certification.
