Mission/purpose of the job

 

Establish vehicle and component test capabilities (processes, methods, technologies, equipment) that are in line with international standards.

Scope & Influence

 

  • Test procedures; related work of test methods, testing technologies and testing equipment for key features (durability, reliability, drivability,fuel economy, safety and ride comfort).

  • To make decisions on test work during product development in accordance with DFCV’s DOA (Delegation Of Authority) rules.

Key responsibilities/accountabilities

 

  • Guide to establish verification & validation test plans to support strategic product development

 

  • Guide to plan the vehicle and component testing capabilities ( including test equipment, test methods, test techniques )  that to meet global standards and secure the test completion

  • Improve vehicle test process.

  • Improve component assembly test process.

  • Improve reliability verification & validation test capability (test methods set-up and improvement).

  • Improve durability verification & validation test capability (test codes and test equipment).

  • Improve drivability and fuel economy verification & validation test capability (test methods, testing technologies and testing equipment).

  • Improve safety verification & validation test capability (test methods, testing technologies, testing equipment).
     
  • Improve  ride comfort verification & verification test capability (test methods, testing technologies, testing equipment).
     

Personal Profile

 

Preferred educational and/or training qualifications and certificates

 

  • University degree of engineering or the same education level
     

 

Preferred experience and knowledge

 

  • Within Volvo commercial vehicle durability, reliability, drivability,fuel economy, safety and ride comfort  test and analysis experiences.
     
  • Be familiar with Volvo commercial vehicle test development process.

  • Be familiar with the release procedures for new energy and intelligent driving tests.

 

Necessary technical/functional/language skills

 

  • Test experience of complete truck development ;Familiar with relevant test methods, testing technologies and equipment.
           
  • Interpersonal skills and cross-functional, cross-cultural communication skills.
         
  • Have project management skills and knowledge will be a plus.
           
  • To fomulate corresponding test processes and methods according to the characteristics of  domestic commercial vehicle consumers.
         
  • Fluent communication in English both written and oral. Mandarin is a plus.
           

 

 

Location for this position is Wuhan Hubei, China and requires frequent travel.
