Financial Accountant - 15 Month Fixed Term Contract

As a Financial Accountant, you’ll be at the heart of FCA, reporting directly to our Chief Accountant. Your role will centre on accurate period-end reporting, balance sheet reconciliation, and ensuring compliance with UK GAAP, IAS, and Volvo’s internal financial policies.

Who are you?

You may be a newly qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ACA), or a part-qualified accountant who is nearing the end of your exams and already brings solid accounting experience.

You’ll bring:

    • You will have a AAT qualification
    • Strong Excel skills — including pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, and data analysis.
    •  Strong background in reconciliations and financial reporting
    • Knowledge of VAT and corporate tax legislation
    • SAP system proficiency
    • A methodical mindset, with attention to detail and a drive to resolve issues effectively.

What you will do

You will be supporting Renault Trucks Commercials, working partnering with Business Control, the New and Used Sales teams and Dealership depots.

 

  • Deliver accurate and timely period end accounting
  • Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and prepare supporting documentation for monthly review and sign off
  • Investigate and resolve balance sheet discrepancies, ensuring issues are fully understood and closed out
  • Contributing to improvements in reporting, reconciliation and control processes
  • Prepare financial analysis to explain variances against plan and forecast, identifying key drivers
  • Support and contribute to a strong financial control environment, working collaboratively within the FCA team to improve reporting and processes

 

You will also be part of a well established FCA team, working alongside two experienced Financial Accountants and a Rental Accountant and the wider Financial Control and Accounting team. Together you will form a close knit team supporting the integrity of financial reporting across the business.
